10 Questions Could Help Shape the Future of the Gable End

When people think about a new building, it’s easy to focus on the bricks and mortar, steel and glass.

But for us, the Gable End has never just been about constructing a building.

It’s about creating a home. A place where people feel welcome. A place where someone living with dementia feels themselves again. Where a young person discovers a new career. Where someone improves their mental wellbeing. Where families, businesses and community groups come together. A place that belongs to Montrose.

That’s why we’re asking for your help.

As we move into the design stage of the Gable End Development, we want to hear from the people who’ll use it.

We’ve created a short survey, just 10 questions that should take no more than 3–5 minutes to complete. We’re asking about the things that matter most:

  • What would encourage you to use the building?
  • How should it feel when you walk through the door?
  • What services and activities matter most?
  • What accessibility features should we prioritise?
  • If you could tell our architects one thing, what would it be?

Your answers will help shape the next stage of the design process.

This isn’t a token consultation. We want to understand what our community values, now and in the future, so that we can build a facility that reflects those priorities. Over the coming months, we’ll also share how your feedback has influenced the designs, demonstrating the direct impact your ideas have had.

The survey is completely anonymous, but there is also a chance to become more involved in this vital stage of development too.

The Gable End is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Montrose.

Let’s make sure it’s shaped by the people it’s being built for.
