about us

When we were founded in 2012, we had one simple goal: to make positive changes to the lives of those in our community through the unique power of football.
Since those early days we’ve grown in ways we couldn’t have imagined - and while football is still at our core, we’ve evolved to offer more than 25 programmes that are designed to address a range of issues that impact our community not just in Montrose, but all across Angus and the Mearns.
In 2018 we felt that we had outgrown our previous name - Links Park Community Trust - and gave ourselves a refresh, becoming Montrose Community Trust. Our mission and values have remained the same - to build a stronger and healthier community - but our name now better reflects the message we carry beyond football.
There are three core strands of our work: sport, education and health. Our programmes support people from all walks of life, from providing a range of football clubs for children and adults of all abilities, to supporting those who are socially isolated, living with mental health issues or who are adjusting to changes brought on by dementia.
We now support more than 4,500 people in our community each year - and we’re not stopping there. With an ever-growing list of programmes and our transformative Gable End project in development, we’ve got big ambitions for the future.
No matter how you interact with us - whether you’re a volunteer, participant or a sponsor - we want you to join us as we step into our next stage, together.

Fiona's story

Getting involved with MCT gave me a release that I badly needed. They made me realise that if I didn’t look after myself, then I wouldn’t be any use to the people who were dependant me.
