A Note from Our Operations Manager

As Operations Manager at Montrose Community Trust, I am privileged to work at the heart of an organisation that is dedicated to improving lives and strengthening our community. My role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the charity, coordinating our walking groups, leading on all fundraising events and overseeing our Dementia Meeting Centre – each an important strand of the work we do to connect, support and empower people.

Alongside this, I am currently working towards a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Project Management at Dundee & Angus College. Balancing study with a busy work life has certainly been a challenge, but it’s one I have embraced. I feel strongly about continuing to learn, develop and push myself so that I can be the best possible manager I can be. The skills and knowledge I gain through this course are already helping me to approach projects with greater confidence and structure, which in turn benefits the whole organisation as these learnings are shared and applied across the team.

While I take pride in the management and operational side of my role, my real passion lies in making a difference in people’s lives. That is why I make it a priority to remain ‘hands on’ – spending time with members and participants, joining in activities, and staying connected to the people we serve. This not only keeps me visible and approachable but also reminds me daily of why Montrose Community Trust exists: to provide support, friendship and opportunities that matter. Most importantly, it keeps me grounded and humble.

I am excited to continue growing in my role, both professionally and personally, and I look forward to using my experience and learning to strengthen the impact of Montrose Community Trust in the months and years ahead.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and share in our journey.
